Mobile phone policy secondary schools 2023
I am writing to you to clarify some information about the mobile phone policy for secondary schools, as recently discussed in the media. As stated, access to mobile phones will be banned during the school day for secondary students. The timeline for the implementation of this ban is from day one of term 3, 2023.
At Playford International College, we will be consulting with our staff, students and community over term 1 and early into term 2, on how the school will implement this ban. The consultation process will look at how to store phones safely and effectively and the criteria for exemption for students required to have access to their phone.
In the interim, I encourage parents/carers to discuss with their child the possibility of leaving their phones at home from the start of 2023.
