Of course everyone is free to purchase a laptop from anywhere and we will do our best to make it work.

Chromebook (ChromeOS)**
In 2023 the Chromebook device we offer is the Lenovo 300e 3rd Generation. It has a touchscreen, a stylus and long battery life. It is perfectly suited for our school’s ICT network, the Google educational suite and external internet access. It comes with a 3 year warranty.
About the price increase
Unfortunately due to global inflationary pressures, after 3 years the price of the laptops we provide in 2023 is increasing. As always this price covers both the laptop itself and the management license. We do not sell these laptops for profit but simply provide our students and their parents / caregivers with a convenient option to get a laptop with a 3 year warranty.
Of course we encourage everyone to seek the best value laptop they can find on the open market. Be sure to check the minimum requirements below.
OPTION 1 – total cost $600
• Pay off a Lenovo 300e 3rd generation over a maximum of 1 YEAR at a cost of $600.
• After the laptop has been paid off you will own it.
• If you choose this option you are committing to buy the laptop for $600 over the course of no more than 1 year.
• You are welcome to pay off the laptop before the end of the agreed upon year.
OPTION 2 – total cost $600
• Buy a Chromebook OUTRIGHT for $600.
• You will own the laptop immediately.
• If you choose this option you are committing to buy the laptop outright for $600.
OPTION 3 – Bring your own device (BYOD)
• Students may already have a laptop.
• We do our utmost to ensure that any laptop a student may already have is useable on our network. Make sure to check the minimum laptop requirements below.
• We don’t recommend using smart phones because the small screen size is very difficult for school work.
• We don’t support students using iPad’s or Android tablets as these may be impossible to connect securely to our network.
• Many laptops are available from a wide range of retailers in a wide price / quality range.
Minimum laptop requirements
Operating system –
• Chrome OS.
• Windows 10 or later (NOT Windows in “S mode”). 8GB RAM.
• Mac OS 11 (Big Sur) or later. 8GB RAM.
WiFi connectivity –
• “ac” and / or “ax” wifi standards
PURCHASING A LAPTOP FROM US
• Only students enrolled at our school can purchase laptops from us.
• This must be done in person at our finance office.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Permission to use any device on the PIC network is approved only after the parent / caregiver and student has signed and returned these 3 forms.
