Dear parents and caregivers,

I write this letter on the final day of term 2. It has been a very busy term with a number of significant events and outcomes. I would like to congratulate the staff and students involved in the many event that occurred this term. Below are some highlights.

• The Drama performance of Cosi
• The Dance Night held at the Shedley Theatre last Friday
• Our triumphant Division 1 Ice Hockey Team. It is the first time our school has won the Division 1 title since 2008
• Open Boys Futsal Team finished third in the state champions
• A gold and a bronze medal in the South Australian Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge. Our gold medal team will compete in the nationals later this year

End of semester 1 reports will be available Monday 5 July through CANVAS. I encourage all students and their families to spend some time reviewing their report. Parents / Caregivers are welcome to contact teachers if they wish to discuss their child’s achievement further.

Recently, because of a few cases of the COVID-19 Delta strain in South Australia we have had some restrictions re-introduced. In these uncertain times, it is vital that students and their families monitor Compass and our social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) for any announcements that may impact on the school if South Australia has any further restrictions due to an increase in active COVID-19 cases.

As we prepare for term 3, the assumption is that that schools will be open and running as normal. However, if South Australia experiences a spike in cases or some cluster breakouts, we will once again be required to follow any re-introduction of restrictions. If we are faced with this situation, a notification will go up on Compass and our social media platforms.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind families that Course Counselling occurs in term 3. Please keep an eye out for information about this process in early term 3.

I wish all of our students an enjoyable break and I encourage our Year 12 students to use some of this time to work on major assignments and to study previous topics covered this year in preparation for any end of year examination.

Kind Regards,

Karen Bond
Principal
