Tuesday 27 July – COVID update from our Principal
Today the Premier announced that schools, preschools and children’s centres will reopen to all students tomorrow (Wednesday 28 July).
As a result, Playford International College will be open.
We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program unless your child is impacted by SA Health quarantine orders. You will need to notify the school if this is the case. Please call on 8255 7566 to inform us if your child is self-isolating / quarantining.
As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed.
As a result, we will:
- minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, pleasedrop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults
- postpone all school events, excursions and camps for the next week
- require all staff and students in years 8 and above to wear masks when indoors, on publictransport or on school buses. Please note that staff will not have to wear masks while teaching or working directly with students.
Students can wear their own cloth masks. We also have supplies of surgical masks available if they need them. These can be collected from Student Services. Teachers will also have some masks available to give students if they arrive to a lesson without one.
Your child might have questions about wearing masks. It’s important we continue to follow SA Health advice. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we help students and staff with this necessary change.
Thank you very much for your support during the lockdown. We look forward to having your child back at school tomorrow.
