Swimming Carnival 2019
On Monday 11th of February Playford hosted its annual Swimming and Splash Carnival at the Salisbury Swimming Centre. The day started early for the swimmers with students starting to arrive from 9am to take part in the 30 metre freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke events. Records were broken across the board in these races with the fastest boy’s time going to Saxon of Barnes House swimming the freestyle in 19.03 seconds and Tayla of Mitchell House in the girl’s recording 24.35 seconds. By mid-morning, the individual events had finished and the house events started with students having a lot of fun taking part in the novelty events such as the tire tow relay, peg scramble, pool netball and obstacle course. New to the day this year was the giant slip and slide which saw students having a great time on the hill at the back of the pool. The main events concluded with the freestyle relay taking centre stage as the staff and students cheered on their houses to victory. It was an excellent day, where students competed in great spirit and enjoyed their free time in the pool as much as taking part in the events. Results for the day were:
