National Sorry Day
On Thursday May 26 students from Playford International College attended a Community event to acknowledge National Sorry Day at the Stolen Generation Memorial and Healing Garden in Stebonheath Park. To start the ceremonies, attendees participated in a short walk through the garden lead by one of our students, Zane Weetra. Students then heard several members from the Stolen Generation Circle of Hope talk about their personal experiences and observed a smoking ceremony. After the ceremony, invitees travelled to the nearby John Mcveity Centre to participate in a range of activities including bracelet weaving, pampering, basketball and were treated a variety of food and entertainment. Overall, it was a moving and positive experience for all involved.
