rary and purpose built educa-tion environment that has been designed to help them become world class learners. Whilst the bulk of school redevelopment is now behind us, there are more exciting developments still to come. Continue to watch the physical transformation of our school unfold.
This year, the Department for Education launched its 10 year ‘Good to Great’ strategy. This strategy seeks to position all South Australian schools amongst the best in the world. At Playford International College, we begun this journey in 2015 with the launch of our Transfor-mational Plan. Over the past 3 years, we have achieved sig-nificant success and we have much to celebrate. SACE com-pletion rates now match the state average, student attend-ance rates continue to climb towards 90%, more students are beginning university and gain-ing meaningful employment, student academic improvement is evident across all Year levels and the behaviour and conduct of our students continues to impress us all.
It has been an exciting year for our school community that has revolved around the completion of our $10m school redevel-opment. Whilst our staff and students have coped admira-bly with the disruption to our school grounds, caused by on-going building and construction work for the past 2 years, the outcome has been well worth it. This year, we held our first Open Day and more than 60 edu-cators from around the State attended to learn more about ‘Doing Education and Schooling Differently”. As a school, we continue to challenge traditional views on how schools operate and how students engage in learning. We are about improv-ing learning and wellbeing out-comes for every student and to do so, we place student needs at the centre of everything we do. Without their engagement in wanting to learn and come to school, there is little impact we can have as educators.
Our staff has also invested many hours in helping transform our school from ‘Good to Great’ this year. A full external review of our school was undertaken in term 2 and the review panel provided us with outstanding commendations for our perfor-mance and focus on improve-ment.
As a school community, we have also continued to prepare with great commitment and attention to our final assess-ment for Council of International
