In English, students will engage with a number of texts including: novels, films, plays, poetry, short stories and creative writing. Students will learn to understand how films and novels are transformed and learn to apply these skills. Students will use persuasive language to structure an argument to present a point of view. A Shakespeare play will be used to engage students in poetry and language techniques. Expanding their ability to descriptively write in a range of genres.

- Write Right – Study of Creative Writing and Short Stories
Students are assessed according to the Achievement standards of the Australian Curriculum: English Tasks will include:
- Short responses to text
- Oral presentations
- Creative Writing
- Persuasive Writing
- Semester Exam
Successful completion of all the required tasks to a satisfactory or higher standard.
To be successful in this subject a commitment must be made to complete all required classroom and homework tasks.
